iPhone 5 cannot connect to Wi-Fi more that 10 feet distance.

Hi Guys,

Good Day. What could be the issue when an iPhone 5 can only connect to a wireless router when it is at a distance of 3 meters. At more that 3 meters thought the signal bars a full but it could no longer browse the web. At more that 3 meters the phone could no longer reconnect to the access point. Could this be an issue of the wifi antenna or could this be a logic board. Found dents on the right side of the phone, mostly on the lower right corner thinking that the phone must have bumped on something hard or must been dropped sometime.
