How to remove iPad Mini engraving?

I had to replace a customer's black iPad Mini after blowing the backlight fuse. The fuse is now fixed and the iPad is as good as new - except for the annoying inscription on the back which makes it a bit harder to sell at a relatively good price.

Is there a good way to remove the engraving without replacing the back case or damaging it?
