Nintendo DS Lite Touchscreen Ribbon Broke

I was replacing the touchscreen and the touchscreen ribbon cable retaining flap broke. I couldn't for the life of me get it back on. Then it just completely broke. What can I do now?

Peter Diaz, you could try and locate a connector from a bad logic board and solder it onto the board, or your could try and see if the cable will make proper contact by using Kapton tape to hold it into the connector. Do not use any kind of liquid glue etc. Proper repair would be o solder a new connector to your board.

Hi Peter,

Sorry am late to this repair, but it may help someone else with a similar problem.

I had snapped off the little plastic tab latch as you describe that holds in the keyboard ribbon cable on a laptop, and found an easy way to fix it.

The same problem can occur on may different devices, such as CD players, laptop keyboard connectors, camera ribbon cable connectors, etc.

If you break off this little tab, the ribbon cable is not held in at all, and just falls out of the connector.

On the off chance that you have the same type of problem, check out my YouTube video I had posted last year. Not sure what is wrong with your connector. If it is the same problem, you can easily fix it in a few minutes.

After posting this, I can see that it is STILL cut off,

So I'll past the address portion after youtube.com so that it is clear
