I have a 4 year old PowerBook G4 17 inch 1.67 that the keyboard backlight stopped functioning on. it no longer automatically lights up, and when I try the keyboard buttons I get the on screen popup, but it has a circle with a diagonal line through it indicating that it is either broken or missing. Any Ideas?

The info I find suggest a hardware problem, most likely a loose connection. Second item was to reset the PMU. I am including a link to a discussion of this problem and within the discussion is a link for resetting the PMU. Good luck. Ralph
