Braid separated at Magsafe connector
The outer braid of the adapter cable at the Magsafe connector is separated. This is the 85 watt adapter with a T connector. Could this cause damage to my Macbook Pro?

If you walk in to an Apple Store they will replace the unit for free! Apple had a recall on them.

Dan, I think that just applies to the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. If I'm wrong, could you give a link for this recall, thanks.
Mayer here you go: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters Review the note at the bottom "Whether your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. Pending the results of the evaluation, you may or may not be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge". We had quite a few that broke down right at the connector and they replaced them all with the newer version. Thanks Dan. I have a warranty repair going to depot, I think I'll put it in the box and see if they replace it ;-), will advise.

I've seen this on several of the new type connectors, have one with the same problem. I trimmed off the excess frayed plastic and used electrical tape to re-wrap it. Unplug it before working on it ;-)
