Dropped in toilet with a lifeproof case on
So, I knocked my phone into the toilet with the lifeproof case on. The phone actually got sucked up into the toilet and as I had my whole arm up there, I opened the little flap door over the dock as I pulled it out. I immediately took the case off, dried it off. Phone wouldn't turn off. I blew out out water I could which was about a few drops. I placed it in the dryer on the shoe rack- on the air/low setting for a few hours. It worked fine through all, but the battery would drain down and I would have to charge it a couple times through the day. I got a battery kit from Ifixit.com and replaced that-the old battery had some bubbling under it.
facts:
The battery lasts longer now, but seems to drain faster now.
I have opened it up, alcoholed with a q-tip what I could and I feel dried it out well. I noticed no corrosion inside as I had to wait for the kit to open it for about a week.
It seems to take longer to charge.
The water sensor in the headphone jack is still white.
I think the water sensor in the docking port is gone--I see no red or white.
It connects to my computer fine and I backed up the phone.
There seems to be a lot of lint in the docking port.
What can I clean/replace to get me back to good at this point?
Are there other water sensors inside that I should look at?
This site is great!
