vertical line on my MacBook air
there is a vertical line on my macbook air.. not sure why any suggestions where to start trouble shooting?i am happy to place the pic if that helps

Sorry to say it sounds like the LCD display has gotten hit dislodging the kapton flex circuit board from the LCD glass (TAB's) and/or the driver chips that are also mounted on the same flex circuit just below the LCD connections.
To prove it can you connect an external monitor to your system you should not see the vertical bands on it. If you do then the GPU has a problem (rare issue). Time for a new display

Sounds like you have either a break in the ribbon cable that runs between the base and the screen or the screen itself might be damaged.
Does the line move or change appearance if the lid is moved up and down?

nope its a study line in the centre...
It does sound like a break in the ribbon cable or a loose connection if you can't see any damage to the surface of the screen.
i cannot see any breakage on the surface..can you suggest any guide for cable check? i mean how to check the cable step by step?
sad to say i dont have extra monitor let me see if i can get on...

single vertical lines are usually indicative of TAB errors. It does take special skills and machinery to fix those. Sounds to me like you will need a new LCD display.

oh dear this is not good..turkey , thanks for reply so what do you suggest? i am techi person wont mind ripping it apart. i have done teardown to my old macbook mid 2009 with success.
If it is a tab error, and a single vertical line across the screen leads me to believe that it is, the only fix is to replace the LCD. Sorry...
