Its handheld with no name with nav n go IGO8 preloaded with US/Canada maps from Hong Kong when i try to nav from pt A to B in Mn it keeps being stuck on a address in Los Angeles it shows up everytime came that way, I live in Mn will not show bar's showing its catching satelights for any address. I have never owned a GPS. How do i get rid of this address it loads it too. thanks Sher

Sounds like it needs a reset. Give us the make and model number and we'll see if we can find a operators manual.

here is the quick view of the users manual - the steps are definatly correct - i use the same system and if anything won't work like described - something is wrong with your device or the installation of igo8

igo8 always shows the last point it got a gps fix - we have 4 igo8 devices in use and all show the last poit it had a fix
the cold fix could take ages - always try it outside since the gps signals and the antennas of the devices are not that strong
How do i do a cold fix?

I have a manual and i have reset every button on there, in the edit route it won't let you remove it (the address it came with) i can remove all others. thanks thou. Sher

nav n go is all it has with igo8 no name on box or GPS.

hi sheri - i think i have to explain a few more things to you.
the cold fix means that the gps unit has no real data in it - so it must download everything from the satellites (gps almanac) - this could take some time - did you ever got a position fix with this device ?
you wrote that you have the manual - did you read it ? (sorry to ask this question - but many things are explained in it)

I did read the manual, i was told by people that most GPS is to automatic read my location when turned on this one does'nt. I keep it because it will stimulate and/or do a fly over which works great but then push navigate it goes right to los angeles no matter what address are used and no i have never had a satelllite single not even 1 in the 3 mo i've owned it. Its like its stuck. Thanks
