I have reformatted the hd but nothing seems to work. Also can't get it to boot from disk or eject disk.

What disk are you trying to boot from and are you holding down the "C" key? Also try the option key. To eject the disk, hold down the mouse button on startup.

The os on the disk is 10.5 and the harddrive is OS 10.5.8
