There is a weird sticker between my heasink and GPU...

I am trying to replace the termal paste on my mba, in order to get rid of an overheating problem (gpu often gets to 95 C, when horrible stutering stars in games...). Afetr removing and partially cleaning the heatsink, i found an odd rectangular "sticker" attached to the heatsink. Photo
Does it have any porpuse? Im thinking of just removing it, for better heat flow. Should i left it as it?
Its thin, but you can feel it when passing something over it.
