dropped it in the bathtub

I am assuming from that very brief description that it was fully immersed, if only briefly. There are however many in between states besides "working to design" & "terminated" for electronic devices that get a bath. So these questions are in order.

1. Q1) Was it powered on and operating when it was "immersed"? (this often makes a huge difference)
2. Q1A) Was it plugged in to a charger that was powered on? (almost forgot this one)
3. Q2) When removed from the bath, did any liquid drain from the case joints or openings? (tiny as they are)
4. Q3) Was there soap, bath crystals, shampoo residue, essential oil or any other additive in the bath water? (This also is of real significance; soluble salts added to bath water can increase its conductivity and may short out anything and everything as well as leaving crystalline or powdery deposits on the circuit boards and displays. Products containing fats, esters, oils and detergents often leave a sticky residual coating which can be removed with the correct chemical)
5. Q4) After the "rice drying" did you power it on (it seems so) and if so, what was the outcome? (Did you get any display image or light? for example)
6. Q5) Did it impact the bath or water with force? (while water seems the obvious culprit, nothing is ever quite what it seems- clean water with neutral pH often does very little physical damage if it drains away quickly; but it can penetrate surfaces & joints that will absorb it or provide capilliary attraction with sometimes unexpected outcomes)
