Had to replace display and the wires where just there running on the right side up to camera and I do not even see a microphone in the sight piece where it should be.There is a piece of foil there.There is a cable with a purple wire and a black one coming out of it with each end having a small tip of wire exposed on each.

Don't know which 07 you have (13, 15, 17 inch) can't offer you a guide. ID your Mac completely and properly - study the guide and comments for the task.
As a work around a voice quality USB headset and microphone, or a USB microphone adaptor will work… USB audio is separate from analog.
