Identify the film on iPhone 4 home button replacement?

Step 33 on the home button replacement says to remove the plastic film. If you do that, the silver disc comes loose. Should the film go? Glue down the disc?

No no no not the sliver disc it's on about the other side cause that's were you remove the plastic to get to the glue which sticks to your home button
