Problem receiving the GSM signal after disassembly

Hi,

I disassembled my iPhone 4S because of a problem with the power button.

After changing the power button cable with the good equipment and taking care of everything, I have reassembled my iPhone completely.

When I turn it on, everything is OK, except that the GSM signal goes into "Searching ..." and then goes into "Network unavailable".

When I am outside and close to a GSM antenna, the signal comes back, I even captures almost 5 bars 3G.

That which seems to confirm that I have no problem with either the GSM antenna cable or with the motherboard since the signal gets to spend.

It therefore seems to me that there is a problem with the signal amplification.

I've restored my iPhone and did the lastest update. But it does not change my issue.

Does anyone have an idea?

He's referring to the 4 pins on the speaker assembly if you take battery out you will see them..

Make sure they are not sitting on top of the frame they should be sitting inside it..

When you see it you will understand

If this is all fine try a restore on the computer this 99%

Of the time should work

Thank you for the explanation.

Indeed, opening again my iPhone, I understood what he meant.

Unfortunately, I did not have to disassemble this part of the iPhone to change the power and sensor cable.

I took a photo to show they are in place.

I just restore my iPhone via my computer (as a new iPhone) and it still does not work.

I want to remind that my problem is that the GSM network does not pick up if I'm too far away from a GSM antenna.

I seen in that last pick the antenna cable was not looping around the bracket it's ment to. Did you install the battery with the cable like that?

Yes I would say because the cable is damaged it's causing weaker signal

This part is very very cheap I would buy one and see how it goes.

It's all about troubleshooting lol

Hi,

as you advised me, I made the change of the antenna cable.

The repair went well but unfortunately, as I expected, it did not change anything. The signal is still "search" and then "Network unavailable". When I'm out, 3G arrives to capture. But where before I managed to get 5 bars, I have now more than 3 maximum.

I began to despair of not being able to use my iPhone 4S as anything other than an iTouch.

Would you another idea of the cause of this problem amplification GSM signal?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

The grounding pins that go against the frame from the antenna mounted onto the bottom speaker may not be grounded correctly. They should be "inside" the frame and not on top of ii next to the battery.

I'm not sure I understand your answer.

Can you explain a little more your sentence: They should be "inside" the frame and not on top of ii next to the battery.

I opened again tonight my iPhone to look in detail at the antenna cable.

I cleaned with alcohol throughout this part (pins, metal top of the battery).

I pulled all taking 2 photos in case you would see a problem.

The network is still unavailable.

Now I see your pick.

To answer your questions:

Yes, I installed the battery with the cable placed like that. I tried putting it in the bracket and it's the same.

Yes, the antenna cable is slightly damaged at the point where it goes into the bracket.

I did not mention voluntarily for not remark without further reflection.

You think it is because of this that the signal is too weak?
