Acer laptop hibernates instead of going to sleep?

Hello,

When I close the lid of my acer aspire V windows 8.1 laptop, instead of going in sleep mode, my laptop goes into hibernation. The light on my laptop first turns red, then blue and then completely off. I tried to change the settings from the control panel but nothing happened. I don't want my laptop to hibernate. I just want to put it in sleep mode. Can anyone please help me solve this problem ?
