Phone won't work without being plugged in.

So a couple of weeks ago i dropped my iphone 4s in my toilet. i reacted too late to save it and the battery was corrupted. it wouldn't turn on unless the charger was plugged in. and even then, the battery read "100%", the top left corner read "searching" and i couldn't turn the wifi on. then some weeks later, i replaced the battery with one off iFixit. My phone then worked until the battery died. Then once the battery died, it went back to doing the same thing as i mentioned earlier on.
