Ipad pincode not working suddenly and now I can't restore in Itunes.

So i tried to update to the newest ios and it asked me for my code. I put in my code and it told me it was wrong. Then when i locked my ipad and tried to open it again, my code was not working there either. So i searched the internet for a solution for a while. I tried to do the thing where you hold down the home button and then plug it in to a computer with itunes to wipe the data. But when i click restore device, it automatically has to update first and i can't update without putting in the code.
