How do you replace the camera sensor?
My phone's camera is not focusing and I've determined that the camera sensor is going bad. I was hoping you have a video on how to replace that part?

Hi Joel,
Seeing as how this is a relatively new device, have you contacted the service provider (if purchased through them or on contract pricing) or the manufacturer for a repair/replacement? I am all for repairing anything and everything but seeing as how this device is only a few months old, maybe the warranty route would be the best option. Unless the device has had work done to it, warranty voided or physical damage to camera to cause this issue, that is.

It's a relatively simple process. If you look at most of the videos on youtube on how to replace the screen, it will get you down to the point you can remove the camera.
Basic outline:
- Remove back cover
- Remove battery.
- Remove SD and SIM card.
- Remove all the screws on the back cover. One screw, next to the camera lens, is shorter than the rest. Make sure it goes back into the same hole during reassembly.
- Using a a small pry tool, release the clips on the bottom half of the rear cover, and then move to the top.
- With back cover removed, undo the 4 ribbon connectors on the main board and remove board.
- This will expose the mid frame, with the camera unit. A heat gun will soften the adhesive holding the camera unit to the mid frame. Heat is slightly, and remove. If you have to tug, give it a little more heat.
- Insert new camera unit in its place
- Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Remember to connect all 4 ribbon connectors. They don't take a lot of force to reconnect, so if it feels like you have to force it, stop and re-position it.
Fire the phone back up and test the camera. All should be good.
