Fan at 100% and slow after liquid spill - SMC seems defective
Hey,
I accidentally spilled some water (pure without gas) on my MacBook Air. After drying it out it starts with a progress bar, the fan is at 100% and the MacBook is extremely slow.
Also the battery is not charging and not showing a green or orange light on the magsafe.
Well, if I put it in sleep mode and wake it up, it works perfectly (!) for 10 seconds. Then again the kernel_task is at 350% and the fan at 100%.
I flashed the SMC on my own with rEFIt, hoping to get it work but it didn't help. But it got flashed successfully so the SMC and the communication with it shouldn't be broken, or? On the other hand the apple diagnostics are telling me that there might be a problem with the SMC...
Now if I disconnect the battery, hold down the power key for 5 sec and then connect the magsafe still holding the key it's working perfectly but with fans at 100% and still not showing a light on the magsafe.
So my questions to you are: do you have some ideas what else I could try? Is there maybe some way or some company which can repair the SMC chip? Why is it possible to flash it but a SMC reset isn't working and the Mac seems having problems communicating with it?
My last idea would be to bake the logic board. But thats really the last thing I'd like to try...
Really hope you can help me out. Thanks in advance for every answer!
