Does Win 8 have a SAFE mode?
Can it start in SAFE mode to do a full reinstall?

When u are booted in Win 8 press Win+R, type msconfig and press Enter. After switch over to the boot, and click on Safe Boot box
The Active Directory option pertains to restoring a server that is a Domain Controller for your network. Once you have chosen your option click the ok button and restart your machine. You PC will be booted into Safe Mode automatically.
To revert this, just open the msconfig again and click on the Safe Boot box, now restart :)
