My iPod Touch wont turn on and the home button is broken?

My Ipod Touch (16GB, no camera) wont turn on! It was fully charged, and I just used it and put it on sleep. I tried to turn it back on again but it wasn't responding. This has happened before, so I tried doing what I did last time, get into into recovery mode by plugging it in and holding down the home button and power button etc etc,

But

My home button has been jammed for several months. It wont click and its physically broken. I had been using assistive touch. I dont know what I can do? Maybe I could take it to an apple store and they will fix the home button so I can get it into recovery mode or is there another way? Please help.

I have tried to turn on my ipod so many times but it doesn't want to and I cant press the home button because it is broken. what do I do? please help me!!

I dont know what to do!!! My ipod screen cracked like 2 months ago and it worked perfectly FINE!AND IT WAS FULLY CHARGED this morning AND I WAS PLAYING ON IT AND IT SHUT OFF AND I STARTED FREAKING OUT! i have no idea what to do! Pls help!

Yes omg. So last night I turned off my Ipod because I was going to bed. Then I remembered I wanted to check something. So, I tried the power button. But, I couldn't try to turn it on with the home button because it has been jammed for almost 3 months. So, please help I don't know what to do exactly and I'm freaking out because I know they say if it won't turn on then hold down the power button AND the home button. But, I can't really do that because I don't have the original home button, I have the one on the screen (idk what its called) So, please help. :(

Try leaving your iPod alone, completely untouched, for a week, even a month, and the plug it in to charge again. But dont try to turn it on at all. Just leave it. Thats what i did. Good luck hopefully it works :)

A few weeks ago . I was on my way to dance practice and my phone was perfectly fine. I was using it the whole time. Then i left it alone for a good 15 min and when my phone wouldn't turn on at all. There was nothing on the screen but it wasent my first time that this happen but. I was the first time that my home button didn't work. So i was crying and i was researching solutions to help me with my problem. And there were none i tried calling apple store and they didn't help at all. Then i tried to research again and i found a person that said to just leave your phone not charged for a day or a couple of miniutes . And i did that and the dead battery came up when i pressed the power button. I charged it and it working ever since then. Im very greatful that it works and i hope i helped people with this comment.

Leave your device alone uncharged for a day or two and then try the power button, it should show the dead battery icon, if so, charge it and it should go back to normal

i have the same problem. my phone was working fine all of a sudden i go to check the time and it wont turn on at all. I even tried to see f it was dead but it wasnt. what do i do? Also my home button is broken so i dont know how to turn it on?

Yes. This worked!

I have an ipod touch. My home button is broken. When I came home and tried to wake it up, nothing. Total blackness. After trying many things (including the tip about putting it in the freezer for 10 minutes) I just left it alone and let the battery drain. A day later, I tried to start as usual and ...... the dead battery icon came on. Oh, so happy! Charged it a few minutes and was back to listening to podcasts of Decoder Ring Theater while a fall asleep again.

The cu-tip and rubbing alcohol method works. I once had a broken home button and tried this method and it worked thankfully. Put rubbing alcohol at the end of a cu-tip and then rub the cu-tip around the home button. This will help get any dirt and dust that might have been clogged. look at the cu-tip after, you will see dirt and dust and its just gross but this works and its easy

Actually found another solution that I do aswell. Leave it uncharged for a couple days until it drains dead, then try turning it on and it will show up "plug in charger" problem instantly solved

You need to use a jailbreak tool to get into DFU mode without working buttons. Instructions can be found here. You do not need to actually jailbreak the device for this to work.

EVERYONE I HAVE FOUND THE ANSWER TO EVERYONE PROMBLEM PUT YOUR IPHONE OR IPOD IN THE FREZZER FOR 10min set a timer when the 10 min is up take it out and plug it up to your charger this should work lik if this helps

Hold the volume button down and the power button down at the same time it might not work because I don't know if you have to have a charged or dead ipod

So this used to happen to me when my phone worked all they way. I'd be at a hockey practice, come back to the locker room, and it'd be completely off.

Sometimes they do this when they get too hot or cold.

Now that my home screen button is broken, it happened again. My friend told me it shouldn't matter if the button is broken, holding down the power and home buttons should work. And it did.

It happened again today and i sat from a good five minutes waiting for the apple logo to appear, but my phone is back on.

If the apple logo comes on and back off, put it on the charger. That worked this time.

I have used different Apple products in the past and I've always had problems with them, but I have also used Android in the past and present, and I am and have had no problems at all. The Apple workers are not helpful in any way shape or form. So I definitely recommend Android. My favorite Android product is the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, it's waterproof and amazing. (It's also big but not too heavy) I have not tried the Galaxy 8 yet though, but from what I hear it is really good.

So do you guys know when you keep pressing your home button it turns your screen a different color? anyway so i accidentally did that because i was trying to get to the home screen on my phone but it wasn't working, and my phone turned completely off the screen went completely black. But when someone texts me or something my phone vibrates. please help me! I really need some solutions.

It has been going on 3 years now and my iPod will not work. When I charge it it goes to the apple logo to a black screen and continuously does it. What should I do?

replace the battery is step 1. battery's do in fact go bad.

replace battery, while inside check your home button. perhaps replace that assembly also
