Nothing but center jewel works, reset does not work.

My dualshock 3 seams to be having problems. It connects, charges and the center jewel works just fine, but none of the other controller functions work. I've tried to reset it and it does nothing. I took it apart and found a water spot on the mother board i cleaned the mother board and looked over the input board every thing looks fine to me. Why wont anything work?
