Repaired Samsung Brightside (U380) but LCD is now negative & inverted.
I took my Samsung Brightside (U380) apart as it's slider flex cable was sliced up by the slider arm which lost it's pivot point. I got a used U380 off eBay and salvaged its flex cable & slider / pivot arm assembly to place into my cell phone. I used the PDF guidance from oldturkey03 titled "Samsung Brightside LCD Replacement" to help me do this. Before the cell wouldn't do anything, as the on/off button is controlled through the flex cable. Now everything seems to work, including charging the battery.
A major problem though is that the LCD screen now is a complete invert & negative of what it used to be. The colors are 100% negative of what they used to be, and by inverted, I mean that everything is like looking at the LCD screen in a mirror. Not quite, but this is the best I can describe it & the attached image should show it better. Please help. I'm almost there I hope.
UPDATE, POSSIBLY SOLVED... Funny thing, I dropped the cell phone & it's battery popped out. I put it back in and powered it back up, and NOW the screen is back to normal. Don't know why, but the problem is solved. So the solution to fixing my cell phone was to drop it on the floor. Lol.
UPDATE#2, ANOTHER PROBLEM... Not funny. I didn't do anything with my phone besides activate it and placed it on my desk. But after a couple hours, now the phone just shows a white LCD screen. It can still power down & up, and the shut down & startup tones sound, but I can't do much with this white screen. Please help, again.
UPDATE#3... I think my problem might be with a flex cable flaw, so I'm replacing it. In step 6, what should I use for the "rubber cement" or possibly double-sided tape? The new flex cable I purchased didn't include any adhesive. Thanks.
