I have this issue and wondering what worked? I have not spilt anything and Apple password requires numbers for password. Numbers through to one to nine do not work.This has happened mid-way through doing my tax. Great timing. Please help.

For now go to your Keyboard Prefs and Check off Show Keyboard & Character Viewers in menu bar. That way you can use the viewer to punch in the password. The other option as outlined above it to use an external USB or even a bluetooth keyboard. But both of these won't fix the real problem. You'll need to clean the keys with some can'ed air to push away any stuff thats blocking the key, if it got wet its time for a new keyboard.
