Instructions state 100 percent vinegar up to the “Max” line for the BKC600XL model and a purge to replace the water with the vinegar followed by letting the machine sit turned on for a minimum of 4 hours.
There is no need to unplug the machine for 15 minutes as the machine detects the need for descaling. If the descale message persists, you’ll need to run another cycle of vinegar through the machine.
You can find precise instructions on descaling your machine on page 28 of your manual and the purge process on page 18.
