Did I kill my iPhone battery when I forgot to power down prior to attempting to replace glass screen?

Did you heat your phone to remove the Glass?

I am using the LCD Touch Screen Digitizer Frame Assembly Set. Therefore I did not have to remove the glass itself. I only had to replace wires, camera, etc. The phone became extremely hot at the top where the earpiece and camera are located.
