Why won't the buttons work

I have a playstation vita and the buttons stopped working randomly. all of them. the square, circle, x and the triangle. then my power button won't turn it off anymore. what happened? Is it a flex cable issue or is one of the buttons stuck somewhere and over riding the rest at this point?
