replacing the disc drive
after swapping the boards for the disc drive is there anything else I have to do to my xbox one to get the new disc drive to read the discs ?????? I'm new to this kind of stuff

The laser died already??
Once everything is connected to the drive board and the drive is plugged into the motherboard you should be good to go.
Did you buy the whole drive or just the laser? On the 360 you sometimes had to tweak the pots on the lens and use a multimeter to test the voltage. PITA.
