Why won't my intsall CD boot up the computer?

According to the Apple store, my hard drive failed, and so I used your website to buy one for my computer, which is the macbook pro A1150, and followed the directions to replace it. It was successfully replaced, and now all I had to do was reinstall the software, but it is giving me a message saying it can't save the software.

Hi, I am including a link from Apple on installing OS 10.6. The procedure should work with 10.5 if that is what you have. Good luck Ralph
