I am searching for a way to test a Playstation after a repair has been performed. In other words I want to exercise the device to verify we have effectively repaired it.

You can just start it up, install a game and play the game. I'm not sure what exactly you fixed on it, but to do a thorough test you need to check all of the functions of the PS4. Be sure to use the controller unplugged from the console to be sure that it works.

We understand all that. however we need to let it run on its own for a few hours or more... So we were hoping like a benchmarking disk etc..
What's the reason for letting it run for a few hours?
To ensure it will not overheat again and shutdown after customer has returned home.
What was the cause of it overheating?
