Push the two tabs out that are located below the battery. Once you have done that, push the battery away from the computer.

on an asus the battery is inside the computer you will have to turn it over and remove 9 screws, then flip it back up and gently remove top casing there is a ribbon connected to the keyboard and also a cable to the power button. disconnect both them now you can take the top off and get to the battery.
