Searched everywhere for help with this to no avail. The black ribbon cable in the disc drive has come apart from the laser. Would love advice on how to get it back. Will add a picture when I figure out how. Thanks.

Hi,
Here is a link which shows a PS3 super slim laser unit replacement. At 4:38 min in it shows the removal of the cable.
As shown you have to unlatch and gently raise the hinged black locking bar. In your case insert the cable fully (it only goes in one way -notice the key slot in the cable) then close and latch the locking bar.

Hi jayeff thanks for the quick reply! However, my son's ps3 (the one in the picture I linked) is a super slim version so all the cables and such are different to those you've shown me. I've tried to find a guide similar to what you've shown me but I can't find one for the ps3 super slim version.
