I have my directv, Playstation, and ipod connected. during normal use if the song changes, movie ends, commerical starts; the unit with change from multi channel to stereo or dobly. i cant no figure out how to get this to stop and just stay on mult-channel.

Hi,
According to the user guide (here is a link http://assets.denon.com/documentmaster/u... ) when the input signal is Dolby True HD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS HD or DTS Express, you cannot select Multi Channel stereo mode. (p.23 of guide)
Also see the note on p.21 starting 'Some listening modes cannot be selected.....
It would seem that the receiver is just playing in the mode that corresponds to the input signal and cannot be kept on multi channel

thats what i had read too but was hoping to lock it out since its driving me nuts. i figured this was a turn off kind of function. ready to toss this thing and get something else if it keeps this up.
