Why won't my top touch screen work?

The week I got my AT&T Sony Tablet I was just playing a game on it and the top screen stopped being touch screen. The bottom screen still works but I can't do anything on it without both working. I was told a wire could have been pinched where it folds since only one screen isn't working properly. Both screens work as far as viewing stufd but I can't click anything on the top. I've taken it to get it fixed but no one has any idea because they've never seen one. I'm about to leave for deployment and wanted to take it with, please help!
