Bought used iPhone, Ended Up Being Bent

Bought an iphone 5s, used, was under the impression it was 32gb gold with a damaged screen. Seller told me that the only issue was the screen. I bought the phone and handed him the money without really looking at it too much, as it was a quick meet outside of a store. After I got in my vehicle I inspected it and realized it was silver, the screen was damaged and the phone itself was bent. I plugged it into my computer and it shows 11gb free of 14gb meaning the phone was not 32gb but rather a 16gb model. Seller also told me it is locked to Telus, but due to his other incorrect info I don't believe it anymore. He blew me off when I tried to mention the issues.

Since it's used, and also the screen is shattered I'm not able to get it "replaced" from apple or anything.

My questions are these:

1. The bend isn't overly crazy, should I put iPhone between two wood pieces and tighten in C clamps/vise until it is relatively straight enough to install a new screen on it?

2. Any way to figure out if the iPhone is actually locked to Telus without using the screen? The top left corner is visible. Enough to see the "No Sim" in the top. The touch doesn't work on the screen so I can't go through settings, or slide to unlock.

3. What is my best course of action?

I'll address these points one by one.

1. If you really want to bend the phone back(Never comes out perfect) You should remove the motherboard, screen etc and bend the frame itself back. You can also find replacements on eBay for 10-20 bucks. (Better way)

2. Find the IMEI number on the back and put it on Swappa. You can also call Telus Customer support and ask them if they can identifty the IMEI and its status.

3. If you plan to resell, I would replace the housing and screen and make sure the IMEI and phone is not flagged as stolen or unpaid.

If you want it for yourself, you could probably get away with bending it back yourself and just gettings a new LCD. Keep in mind that if the frame is really damaged, a new LCD will not fit perfectly, and you will have issues seating it in place.

I put my friends SIM card in the phone as it's with Telus. It was in for less than a minute but it changed to No Service and that's all it said. I can't use the phone because of the screen issue so I can't actually get the IMEI from in the phone. I believe this phone is blacklisted now as I know of the guy who sold it to me and he's pretty sketchy. I took the phone apart for the most part but can't seem to remove the adhesive from the battery to get it up and view the IMEI.

Just checked status via an IMEI checker.. IMEI was on back but I read it was only in the settings and under the battery so I wasted all the time taking apart the phone. The status is it's blacklisted.... what do i do

Yes I mentioned it was on the back. If the guy didn't mention it, try to get your money back from him.

Blacklisted can only be removed with authorization of the original owner.
