Camera app not working but snapchat does

Hi,

I replaced a battery and when I reconnected the battery I dropped a screw alongside it.. It started smoking + smelling, and I pulled my battery out.

Now my camera app does not work anymore, I get a black screen by picture and by video one fuzzy image.

But snapchat does work?

Have I been lucky that this is just software problem and not something burnt?
