1 Battery symbol showing X
My MacBook Pro was very warm when I used it last night without the cord. Still showed decent charge when I was done. Didn't charge it overnight. When I went to use it today, it was dead. Plugged it in to charge and powered it up. Came back from Sleep mode(?) as I didn't have to log back in. Indicator light on plug in is green, however, Battery symbol on top bar of screen just shows an "X" instead of remaining battery life. I unplugged cord and computer shut off. Plugged it back in and did the same turn on from sleep mode. Am I safe to think my battery is finished? If so, since this is a unibody, what's my next step?

Took MB Pro to Best Buy. They have to send it out. 5 days minimum. Contacted Apple Store. Told me I have a "vintage" MB, so they don't typically work on it. Contacted a company they suggested to look at it. Don't keep batteries for that old of a computer, but could look at it and diagnose. They did also suggest another place that told me they might have a battery based on my serial #, but couldn't say for sure until they tried it. Catch is I'm a good distance from where they are located. If it doesn't fit, I'm making two 2-hour each way trips. Can't be without my computer as it is my office.
