Does the A1406 Battery fit the A1495 MacBook Air?

Good day iFixit Community!

I wanted to know if you could use an A1406 Battery to replace the broken A1495 battery that the MacAir 11" Early 2014 uses.

The reason I'm asking is because I couldn't find anyone selling the A1495 battery where I live at, and they go about USD$249.99 if I order from one of the authorized Apple stores here in my city.

I'm looking to save a few monies but If it doesnt' work, then I'll just have it ordered from the Apple store here.

I'm about to get an A1495 for my mid 2012 11" MBA as it's higher capacity than the original A1406 that's inside of it now. They seem to be cross-compatible

Here’s my previous answer on this

The people at iFixit seem to be of the opinion that either battery will work in your machine. The A1495 is a newer battery and possibly may operate a little longer, look at the compatibility charts.

Looking this up on Everymac does not show a problem. All that being said the capacity may be different and personally I would stay with the battery # designated for your machine. Good third party batteries can be had via Amazon. Just don’t go for the real cheapie.

Yes, they are compatible. But not recommend. However based on the tests it should work fine with no problem.
