I can't connect with my computer or iTunes

Hey am ganesh and i have apple ipod classic 120gb. Whenever i try to connect my ipod with my windows 8 computer, It says "OK TO DISCONNECT" within 10 seconds but yes am able charge it via charger but i can't connect with my computer or iTunes. So please help me!!!!!
