Corrupt Firmware - Short Device

Hi,

I plugged my Fitbit HR into a USB port for a portable desktop in my office, and it seemed to corrupt the software. Since then its had a line halfway across- white and the rest black, with an exclamation mark in the middle. I have opened a case with Fitbit support and they have gone through all the support steps to reset / upgrade etc. but it just doesnt want to do anything from a software perspective. Zero communication with phone, laptop, and the laptop software just cant see the device to upgrade.

Given it wasnt physically damaged beyond repair, and as is prior to this USB port seemily corrupting it, is there any alternative methods to reset? I was reading something on this site about shorting the PINs or similar.

Any recommendations?
