keeps shutting off and restarting
every couple minutes it shuts off without warning then restarts and keeps repeating this

Try a clean boot . Shut down the computer then remove the battery and make sure its not plugged in then hold the power button down for 60 sec. once done replace the battery and plug it in and then boot normally. If there is no joy here try getting into the event log and getting a error code to see what the reason for the shut down is. If your unfamilar with the event log let me know and I can guild you through the procedure. Hope this helps

This can be one of two things i found
Mysearchresults is a browser hijacker that i had on my Acer extensa 5420 it can cause apps to stop or shut down computer but ussaly doesnt restart this is possible but not likley if so use superantispyware.com to download the app that i used to remove this
Or bad hard drive sectors as this is sometimes fixable a hard drive ranging 3 to 5 would be reccomended to have the longest life span of computer/ if this is your option depending hard drive its always good up upgrade ram but not always needed
