Screen is dim won't brighten
So I tried installing an led mod on my iPhone 6. The one that makes the apple logo on the back light up. Now my screen won't brighten. Tried another screen still dim.

Have you removed the modification? Certain modifications that draw power from the device using certain solder points will affect other components.

There's a possibility that you've damaged whatever component (or even multiple components) you applied the mod to. Some moders don't realize it, but damage to one part (the logic board) may not be limited to just that one part, and it can carry out damage to other components as well (screen, backlight, battery, etc.). You may want to try each of those components one at a time.
So would you recommend that I buy a new screen
Start with that, and if it doesn't work, then move on to logic board, then battery, then antenna, in that order.

Sounds like a posable backlight filter problem. This is a board level repair that requires specialized repair tools.
