MacBook expired. data is on ssd but blocked by file vault

Hallo,

I have a macbook that expired. The data is still on the ssd. I want to recover the data from the ssd with a reader but file vault is blocking me with this. Is there a way to fool file vault or to turn it of?

You have to know the password. FileVault is not just a lock, it actually encrypts everything on the drive.

I have the password from it. But the problem is the macbook died. So somebody build an installation with a reader in it to read out the ssd. The ssd still works because the computer detects it and says there is data on but it is not possible to pick it up because Filevault is blocking it.

Open up Disk utility to unlock FileVault encrypted SSD using the password so you can copy off the SSD's content to a fresh drive. You'll need to leave the SSD in the system or use a special USB case made by OWC: OWC Envoy - USB 3.0 MacBook Air SSD Case and access to another drive to copy the contents to.
