Is it possible to separate the Digitizer from the LCD?

Hi,

I just wanted to know whether it was possible to seperate the Digitzer from the LCD as my S6 Edge's Digitizer is faulty. Please note that the glass was shattered and has now been removed and the LCD is working perfectly, just that the touch screen meaning the Digitizer is faulty/broken.

Looking around at parts on eBay led me to this link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digitizer-Touc... which to me assumes that it is possible, seeing as there is no LCD attached to the Digitizer in that images shown in the link.

Any steps to be taken whilst doing this or any answers related to this are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The digitizer is fused together with the LCD. That's how flagship phones are now these days for years.

The glass is just a piece of glass. Getting the right loca liquid glue or some similar adhesive is the way to do it and the hard part is keeping out the dust and making it spot less clean so that it looks good.

I always leave it to the experienced professional screen refurbishers and replace the screen (Seriously these LCDs are pretty fragile). If the touch screen is very easy to separate from the LCD like cheaper phones are I would replace separately.

Hey Manpreet, it is possible to remove it but it can be really messy. You'd have to scoop off the glass. Some people have done it successfully before:

-You can buy the glass and replace the glass only but be careful to not damage the LCD. The video above guides you through on how to do the glass only replacement.

but here on the video he is replacing the glass only. how can the digitizer be replaced too?

Hi buddy it is posible to do only the glass seperation but highly technical. But if u can find a place where u can do a freeze seperation that will be the best option with little or no risk.
