MacBook Air Logic Board Replacement

Hello everyone,

First of all, sorry for the bad english, it's not my first language.

I have a 13" mid 2011 macbook air A1369 i5, and its logic board stopped working, and I am searching for another one on eBay to replace it.

Since there is 2 mid 2011 MBA A1369 (i5 and i7), can I replace my logic board with one that is compatible with i7 from the same year? Or should I stick with the same configuration and look for one that is just like mine (i5)?

Thanks

Yes you can replace your dead i5 logic board with a i7 one as long as you stay within the series (see above link).

But before you go down this path are you sure the logic board is bad and not something else?

For reference here is the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: MacBook Air 13" Mid 2011 Logic Board Replacement and here is the logic boards:

Both boards offer 4 GB of RAM, Apple never offered a 8 GB board for this series.

It's very hard to fine one , any suggestion to fine new one MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2011) 1.8 GHz Logic Board

@aant71 - It's a problem! COVID has messed up parts recycling as you just can't find any new boards for this series.

Given Apple is posed to announce new Apple silicon systems it might be wise to hold off until the end of next week when the dust settles if fixing this system is economical or not.
