blinking apple start up screen

I replaced the lightning port of my iphone 6s using an ifixit replacement and guide. The repair went smoothly, but now when I plug in my phone (the battery had been drained) I only get a start up screen, then black, then start up screen, etc. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery to no avail. Anyone know what my problem/solution could be? Thanks
