Camera app not working

As of last night, my camera app is being really weird. When I open it, I just see a black screen. If I swipe over to video, the video display is fine, but the button to switch between cameras has it do the rotate animation but it just continues to display the rear camera. If I then switch back to camera, it displays an extremely blurry image that it remains stuck on. If I switch to slo-mo, then slowly to video, then to camera, the camera display is fine but the switch between front and rear button still does nothing. Sometimes it will actually take a picture, sometimes it will not.

I know that both the front and rear facing cameras themselves are fine; I can put the camera app in video and it will display alright and I checked the front camera on facetime.

So far I've restarted the app, restarted the phone, and restores all settings to default with no luck. I'd like to see if there are other options before going so far as to restoring the phone to factory settings.
