Can portable dvd player be revived after power surge?

Panasonic DVD-LA95, palm theatre, stopped working when I plugged into wall outlet. Think it suffered a power surge. Now won't turn on. Is it repairable or does it need to be recycled?

@terryasks the only way to figure that one out is by opening it up and checking for damage. I'd be looking for damaged components around the power connector on the power input PCB. Attached are the disassembly instructions if you need those Panasonic DVD-LA95
