Why isn't my USB port working?

I always leave in the USB plug for my wireless mouse in the laptop, and the mouse has always been detected. The other day I turned on my laptop and it refused to detect the mouse. I tried changing the batteries in the mouse but that was not the Issue. I also tried removing and reinserting the USB in the same port. It was only when I tried the one of the USB ports on the left side of the laptop that it worked (I always use the one on the right). That's when I figured the USB port on the right is broken. I'm always using removable devices and would like all 4 ports working. How can I get this fixed?

Seeing how your mouse worked on all but one of the ports, it's possible the USB driver is corrupted. Go to the Device Manager menu, expand the Universal Serial Bus controller section, and uninstall each of the USB ports. Then restart the computer to automatically reinstall the ports. If the problem persists, you may have to entirely replace the USB port.

The Troubleshooting Guide has a section on possible USB port errors you can consult for other possible answers.

Hello,

When you look to usb port you see something broken? If yes, you must buy a usb port, unmount to remove the motherboard and change, you need soldering skills. If the usb port is not on the motherboard but instead on little board who connects by ribbons to motherboard, you can replace that board or repair.

If no, could be a soldering problem and you only need is solder again.
