Nexus 5X not charging when running after going to swim

my nexus went swimming this weekend.

i disassembled the phone and let it dry over 2 days at a radiator (40°C).

After the reassembly, the phone works as before, does no longer charge when

running though and quite slow when turned off.

i may have damaged the battery a bit since i tried to take it out and bent it a bit.

but still, phone does not discharge faster than normal. i suspect more the electronics having taken some

damage rather than the battery itself.

do you have some schematics to allow me to make some measurements on the mainboard while the charger is connected?

My girlfriend dropped her 5X in the toilet and turned it on straight away. Needless to say it didn't work from then on out.

I took the phone apart to remove the motherboard, sprayed it with Isopropanol and gave it a very gentle clean with a cotton bud.

Bought a new battery, put it back together and it's good as new, all working apart from 1 thing - the battery doesn't seem to be charging. I mean, the indicator shows its charging, when its powered off the battery increasing animation is showing, but if you go into battery stats, its just stuck on 44%.

No idea what to do, but you could try the above.

it may sound strange but try this -

remove the battery cover and keep you phone in sunlight for 2 hours and than plug the battery back and wait for 2 min . try restarting the phone and now plug the charger back and see if this works . it worked for me when i had the same issue back in 2009 . thanks for asking
